meetings are held the second Thursday of each month
at 7:00 PM at our club house located at Boyd Mordhorst Memorial Range, 3 miles
S.E. of Ephrata on SR 282.
Board
meetings are held at 6:30 PM prior to the club
meetings. All visitors are welcome to
attend.
Club
Membership is included with the purchase of a gate
key. Key’s are $60.00 for the 2008
season, Jan. 1 thru Dec. 31. Keys for
the range can be purchased from Olde World Trading at 306 S. Division St. in
Moses Lake, or Olde World Trading at 25 Basin St. N.W. in Ephrata. Keys can also be purchased at our general
meetings. A $10.00 key is available,
with a $50.00 deposit, which is good for the day it is purchased. A full refund will be returned to the
purchaser when the key is returned within 24 hours. All keys and memberships are good for the
entire family of the purchaser.
Boyd
Mordhorst Memorial Range belongs to the City of Ephrata and
managed by the Ephrata Sportsmen’s Association.
Organized shooting events are encouraged with current organizations
listed below. The range is located 3
miles S.E. of Ephrata off of Airport Road near it’s intersection with S.R. 282,
next to the municipal airport. The
address is 502 HY 282, Ephrata.
Trap &
Skeet. With
night lights and a new insulated, heated club house, the trap ranges are open
for trap shooting on Tuesday nights from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sundays from
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The trapshooting on Tuesday nights will be
for the Travel League and will continue until June 3, 2008. Then the trap range will be open on Wednesday
nights. The skeet range is open from
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday and from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Mondays. Cost of shooting is $3.00 per round for
members and $4.00 per round for non-members.
Tickets, good for 11 rounds, are available to members for $30.00. Junior shooters receive a special rate.
Junior
Trap Junior trap
shooters and/or organizations such as FFA, Boy (Girl) Scouts, & CAP, are
encouraged to shoot during regularly scheduled trap shooting as a way to
encourage youth shooting programs.
Junior
Shooting Program. Tom
McIntosh, 246-8009, oversees a junior small bore (.22 cal.) rifle marksmanship
training program. Top quality match
rifles, spotting scopes, ammunition, and targets are furnished at no cost to
participants. The program is open to all
juniors, male and female, ages 12 years thru 18 years. The program utilizes our new indoor range
that is heated and ventilated. The range
has a classroom, restroom, and small kitchen for use by the participants. Parents are encouraged to accompany their
children. We meet at the range on
Wednesday nights from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM from October 3rd through May 7th.
Indoor
Range. The
indoor range is open to the general public on scheduled days or nights. The indoor range is used by junior smallbore
shooters on Wednesday nights, and pistol and smallbore rifle shooters on
Thursday nights. It is open to any
organized group of shooters with a plan for a program. Contact an officer of the club for info. A $3.00 per shooter is charged for adults.
Practical
Pistol (IPSC) & three gun competitions. The Sportsmen sponsor several large matches
during each year starting with a spring three gun match. These matches attract competitors from
several states. A popular competition is
the Three Gun match in the spring. See
the newsletter for dates and details.
Competitions and practice sessions are held monthly. Contact Carl Carbon for more info or go to

High Power
Rifle. The
Sportsmen are affiliated with the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) and
sponsor several matches per year.

Military rifles are available for purchase through the CMP.
College
Scholarship. A college scholarship will be awarded to a
deserving student each year. We
encourage children of members to apply.
If you have a child, foster child, or grandchild who is a high school
senior and needs a scholarship, advise them to talk to their class counselor
about the Ephrata Sportsmen’s Ass’n. scholarship and BE SURE TO ADVISE AN
OFFICER OF THE CLUB OF THE APPLICATION WHEN IT IS SUBMITTED. We would like to see the grant going to a
members family so remember us if you are related to a child who will want a
scholarship next year. Contact Tom

IPSC Bays are for IPSC practice & matches exclusively. The props and targets are private property.
State and local agency training days. We are required by the state to allow police and other agencies to use our facilities for training. The newsletter will announce the training days and which bays will be used. The current newsletter is posted on the bulletin board at the gate.
The gate will be left open for State and local agency training days and scheduled Sportsmen events such as trap, skeet and indoor range events, and for IPSC and High Power Rifle matches.

TRAVELLING
TRAP LEAGUE The North Cascades Travel League will start in March
08 and continue until June 08. We will
shoot twice against 6 Wenatchee area clubs, once at their facility and once at
